Editorial Policy

Be useful. Show the assumptions. Do not make up evidence.

These standards guide how Clear Metric Lab presents educational content.

Accuracy and sources

Explain metric definitions and identify important limits. Support factual claims with relevant sources. Check time-sensitive information, including software prices and features, against current documentation and state when it was checked.

Examples are not results

Label hypothetical examples clearly. Do not invent articles, testimonials, statistics, research findings, credentials, or customer outcomes. An illustrative calculation is not a performance benchmark.

Tools must be real

Do not present a static formula, mock input, or decorative button as a functioning calculator. Describe what a tool does only when its actual behavior supports that description.

Fair comparisons

Compare software against stated needs and consistent criteria. Make pricing assumptions, plan limits, and material relationships clear. Distinguish documented facts from editorial judgment.

Advertising and editorial content

Keep any future advertising distinguishable from educational material. Disclose sponsorships or affiliate relationships wherever they are relevant; do not imply that a paid placement is independent advice.

Corrections and updates

Review reported errors against the relevant evidence. Correct inaccuracies and explain substantive changes when needed. Do not imply that every page has been recently reviewed unless it has.
